Terex Adds Five Online Genie Service Training Courses

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), Redmond, Wash., a business segment of the Terex Corp., has added of five online Genie® service training courses. The courses are designed to provide service technicians with an interactive way to learn about troubleshooting and repairing Genie booms and scissors to develop their confidence and technical ability. All online service training will be offered free-of-charge to technicians of Genie dealers.

“We introduced our first online training courses in 2008, and based on the tremendous customer feedback we received, it encouraged us to develop even more courses to cater to our customers’ busy schedules and technical needs,” said Bob Bartley, director technical services, Terex AWP. “Our online service training program is a great way to reach our dealers and provide essential, valuable training opportunities 24/7, anywhere there is an Internet connection.”

The five new courses focus on the Genie Z™-135 booms, DC booms, DC scissors, IC booms and IC scissors. Technicians who participate will need a computer with Internet access and a registered account. The technician must pass the final exam with a score of at least 80 percent correct answers. A printable certificate of training is provided upon successful completion of the course.

The new online service training courses are additions to the numerous Genie training programs provided in the field or onsite at the factory; they will be available in North America only. Terex AWP also continues to offer factory-based training at its main Redmond, Wash., campus as well as at Terex facilities in Oklahoma City, Okla., and Southaven, Miss. These additional service trainings are part of the new Genie 360°™ comprehensive collection of customer support services, ranging from parts to refurbishment, powered by dedicated customer solutions professionals.
