Terex AWP Further Invests in Customer Support

Service is a key company component in any economy, but unparalleled product support can give a company its edge in a down economy. This week, Terex Aerial Work Platforms showed its continued commitment to enhanced customer support by opening a new Parts and Logistics Center in North Bend, Wash.

Two buildings make up the new facility: a 42,000-square-foot logistics center and a 150,000-square-foot parts warehouse, which will be used to manufacture and store parts for Genie aerial work platforms and aluminum products. “With additional space and room to grow, customers can expect to see additional items added to our parts lineup,” said Siva Balakrishnan, vice president of global services, Terex AWP. Initially, the North Bend location will employ 105 team members and will be staffed Monday-Friday from 5 am to 6 pm.

The facilities were designed from the ground up by Terex AWP and Seacon Construction in order to meet the shipping and receiving needs of Genie aerials. According to Terex, once Genie units have been manufactured in Redmond, they will be sent to North Bend for consolidation and shipping. Away from Redmond’s traffic congestion, Balakrishnan said the North Bend location offers “improved freeway access for shipping and receiving our equipment and parts.”

The new parts and logistics facility is the latest addition to Terex AWP’s support offerings. In March, the company announced its Genie 360° program, a collection of customer support services, which range from parts to refurbishment. Components for the one-stop service shop included extended service protection plans through Terex’s Xtend program, which allows U.S. customers to purchase extended protection from one to four years for Genie boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers; a fleet service parts program for North American customers to purchase equipment parts for Genie and other OEMs parts; a West Coast refurbishment facility in Modesto, Calif.; and used equipment financing through Terex Financial Services.
