Terex AWP's New Paint Process for Genie Scissor Lifts | Powered Access

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) has made changes to its paint process at its facility in Coventry, England, relating to the production of Genie electric scissor lift models. The Genie GS-1530, -1532, -1930, -1932, -2632, -2032, -2046, -2646, -3246 and -4047 models' paint process now includes washing treatments to prepare the equipment before the paint is applied. The technical advantages are cleaner components, better paint adhesion, and improved rust protection.

“Listening to our customers and team members is what the Genie brand is all about,” said Neal Nowick, general manager of the Terex Coventry factory. “On the whole this process is beneficial for our customers because it is helping to increase machine life and making the popular Genie blue color last longer. Also, another advantage is faster custom painting service for customers who wish to utilize the colous of their own company branding.”

The Coventry facility manufactures the above mentioned Genie scissor lifts sold in the EMEAR region. Further changes recently implemented at the site also include notable mechanical cleaning improvements to remove carbon edges as a result of laser-cutting. New chemical pre-treatments are also being used to reinforce the adhesion of paint coatings to the machines’ bodywork giving long-term protection.
