Trico Lift Provides Equipment for Education

Trico Lift, Millville, N.J., recently participated in the Great Oaks Heavy Equipment Operations and Engineering Program by providing the forklifts for 42 students aged 17-20. The Great Oaks program is aligned with the State of Ohio’s curriculum for heavy equipment operation to meet state standards. “Here we teach students how to load, unload, move, and operate equipment under actual conditions,” says Barney Brill, Great Oaks instructor.

Students of Great Oaks Heavy Equipment Operations and Engineering Program also learn how to adjust, assemble, repair, and maintain electrical, ignition and hydraulic systems. They also engage in minor engine repair, maintenance, and safety measures, according to Brill.

“We’re proud to support programs aimed at career development and placement in the equipment industry,” Tony Jones, Trico lift manager of operation support services, who was on hand to instruct and guide the high school students. “As a local business, we have a vested interest in this community and our youth and we are glad to participate in this program.”
