Two Fallen Workers Escape Injury, but Operator Critical after Crane Tips Over

Sarpy County, Neb.—Two people working a hundred feet in the air tumbled into the Missouri River when a crane tipped onto its top at a bridge project just north of Plattsmouth. The workers landed in the river about 20 to 30 ft. from the bank and swam to shore. The crane operator was trapped in the crane’s cab. Bridge workers used cutting torches to free him before he was taken to a medical center in critical condition. The two workers who fell refused treatment. - www.omaha.com
