Worker Burned Critically when Access Platform Hits Power Line | Construction News

Orange County, Fla.A construction worker was taken to a hospital in critical condition after he suffered electrical shock and was burned over 70% of his body when the boom lift he was in touched high-voltage power lines. The victim was removing air-conditioning units from a building under renovation when the accident happened. A passerby who noticed the man on fire in the lift’s basket climbed 25 ft. up the power pole, got into lift, used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the workman, and lowered the lift’s boom to the ground before paramedics arrived and took the victim to the hospital. – www.wftv.com
