Zurich Names New Construction Group Leader

Global property and casualty insurance provider Zurich, Schaumburg, Ill., has named Scott Rasor head of Zurich North America Commercial's construction group. Rasor previously served as senior vice president for construction, specializing in residential and specialty risks. He will be based in Schaumburg.

“With his wealth of experience with both Zurich and the construction industry, Scott will be a strong and valued leader of our construction business,” said Steve Rand, president of Zurich North America Commercial's customer industry segments. “We look forward to [his] continuing to grow Zurich's market-leading position in the construction industry.”

Rasor joined Zurich in 1995 as a liability major case supervisor in claims. After a variety of roles spanning 16 years, he then moved to underwriting where he held several roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to his most recent appointment, Rasor served as head of market for architects and engineers as well as residential products such as the homebuilders protective and volume builders policies. He was also responsible for underwriting and the technical quality of the subguard, construction pofessional liability, property & builders risk and project risk insurance serving the large and middle market segments of construction's portfolio.

"I'm excited about this opportunity because Zurich has a strong construction value proposition," Rasor said. "In addition to providing creative solutions for the risks the industry faces, our integrated teams of underwriters, risk engineering consultants and claims professionals tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of contractors, owners, architects, engineers and other businesses affiliated with construction."
