MEC Delays Release of New Boom Lifts

MEC Aerial Work Platforms, Selma, Calif., has delayed the start of production on two new boom models, the M40T and M46TJ.

During field test evaluation and endurance testing of the M40T and M46TJ, the company determined that changes needed to be implemented to ensure that the new products continue the MEC tradition of industry-leading reliability, the company said. As a result, the production start of these two models will be delayed until the third quarter of 2009.

The company said it has worked on this development project for some time with a considerable amount of capital investment, and it is committed to developing and manufacturing the best boom products on the market. MEC’s statement continued: “We are committed to bringing you the best this industry has to offer, and will never deviate from that commitment. We do apologize for this delay, and under no circumstances will we try to make any excuses, but our promise to you is this: MEC will be the best and most reliable boom bar none.”
