Fassi recently unveiled two new medium-duty models in its XE range of articulating-boom cranes.

The F345A XE-Dynamic and the F345RA XE-Dynamic cranes belong to the HC1 HD5 S2 class (if fitted on trucks), according to the EN12999:2011 standard, and have a maximum lifting capacity of 33.4 tm (241,582 lb.-ft.), with a maximum hydraulic horizontal outreach of 20.5 m (67’3”), which can be increased to 26.7 m (87’7”) in the version with six telescopic boom sections combined with the L214 hydraulic extension.

The Strong-Arm Grapple lineup consists of three models. The 4250, 4850 and 5250 grapples have maximum openings of 42.0, 48.1 and 52.1 inches, respectively, with each rated for up to 50,000 pounds of lift capacity.

Grove Crane Brings Mobility and Smooth Operation to Challenging Airport Lift

La Grange Crane used a Grove GMK5275 all-terrain crane to build an underground water detention system in Rosemont, Illinois, near O’Hare International Airport. The 275 USt crane lifted a series of 9 USt precast segments to construct the system, which will keep stormwater runoff under control for a planned commercial development.

OSHA Issues Proposed Rule to Extend Compliance Deadline for Crane Operator Certification Requirements | Construction News

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) today issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to extend the employer's responsibility to ensure crane operator competency and enforcement for crane operator certification to Nov. 10, 2018.

OSHA issued a final rule in September 2014, extending the deadline by three years for crane operator certification requirements in the Cranes and Derricks in Construction standard. The final rule also extended by three years the employer's responsibility to ensure that crane operators are competent to operate a crane safely.
