VMAC Global Technology Inc. has opened its 2026 State of the Mobile Compressed Air Industry Survey, continuing its annual research focused on equipment use, technology trends and operational priorities within North American mobile service fleets.
The survey collects responses from professionals across multiple sectors, including fleet management, service vehicle upfitting, equipment repair, construction and municipal infrastructure. VMAC reports that the study is designed to provide insight into fleet configurations, air compressor and power system preferences, adoption trends and business outlooks for the coming year.
“Each year the State of the Mobile Compressed Air Industry Survey becomes more valuable because it reflects the industry sentiment and identifies emerging trends,” said Tod Gilbert, president of VMAC. “Mobile compressed air remains the backbone of productivity for service vehicles, and the 2026 findings will give fleet operators and decision-makers the necessary information they need.”
This year’s survey examines air systems used on service trucks, vans and specialty vehicles, with a focus on evolving equipment preferences and the role of dependable air power in daily operations. It also looks at how fleets are weighing new technologies against established performance standards.
“Understanding the real, on-the-ground priorities of mobile service fleets allows suppliers, upfitters and operators to innovate in ways that actually matter,” said Mike Pettigrew, VMAC marketing manager. “Whether it’s optimizing productivity, managing costs or assessing new power technologies, this year’s data helps paint a clearer picture of where the industry is headed.”
According to VMAC, the survey supports its broader goal of providing research-based insights that help service fleets benchmark performance and guide decision-making. Survey participants will receive early access to the 2026 State of the Mobile Compressed Air Industry Report ahead of its public release.
