The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and National Safety Council (NSC) have formalized a partnership that makes AEM Safety Manuals available through NSC’s SafetyAtlas platform.

The online platform serves as a centralized source for safety training, credentials, resources, and services from NSC and its nonprofit and industry partners.

Through the partnership, AEM’s manuals can be used by equipment operators, employers, safety professionals, and workforce training programs. The resources can support new-operator training, refresher courses, and continuing safety education.

AEM’s Safety Materials have supported equipment safety initiatives for more than 50 years and are used across the construction, agriculture, and utility equipment industries.

The manuals cover preparation, safe operation, and maintenance of off-highway equipment. They are developed and reviewed with input from equipment manufacturers and industry experts and are designed to supplement OEM operation and maintenance manuals.

AEM offers manuals for more than 50 specific equipment types.

"AEM Safety Materials are designed to help equipment users operate and maintain machinery safely while reinforcing the safety messages manufacturers provide through their operation and maintenance manuals," said Jaime Vos, AEM senior director of safety materials. "By making these resources available through NSC SafetyAtlas, we are expanding access to trusted safety information and helping more organizations strengthen their safety culture."

The partnership adds SafetyAtlas as another distribution channel for AEM’s safety resources and follows the recent launch of AEM’s redesigned online Safety Materials store.

"AEM's mission is to help build a safer industry for everyone who works with and around our members' equipment," said John Somers, AEM vice president, construction & utility sectors. "Partnering with the National Safety Council through SafetyAtlas enables us to connect more equipment users with practical resources that support safer job sites."
