Boels Group Joins IPAF as Sustaining Member

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) announced that Boels Group has joined as a Sustaining Member, consolidating the organization’s commitment to powered access safety and best practices.

With the updated group membership agreement, all powered access companies within Boels Group — including Boels Rental, Riwal, Cramo and Manlift — are now officially part of IPAF’s membership network.

IPAF’s Sustaining Membership tier is designed for organizations that want to play a leadership role in advancing industry safety, training and standards worldwide. Boels Group’s inclusion reflects an ongoing investment in global safety initiatives for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and related equipment.

Boels Group is one of the largest equipment rental companies in Europe, operating across the Benelux region, Central Europe and Northern Europe. Its rental brands serve a broad range of sectors including construction, manufacturing, government and event infrastructure.

Riwal, now under the Boels Group umbrella, has long supported IPAF’s mission. It has contributed accident data to IPAF for many years, helping to improve awareness of industry risks and promote safety-focused practices. With this new membership agreement, all companies within Boels Group will now contribute to IPAF’s global Accident Reporting Portal.

Boels Group also continues to provide IPAF-certified training, with recent additions including virtual reality simulator courses for scissor lifts, telescopic boom lifts and rough-terrain machines.

“Our strength is that our broad knowledge and large network allow us to offer incredibly customer-focused training courses. This way, we contribute to safer work environments and overall, safer construction sites,” said John Smeets, fleet uptime manager of Boels Rental at Boels Group.

Peter Douglas, CEO and managing director of IPAF, added, “This move unifies all Boels Group’s powered access companies under our shared commitment to safety and professionalism. Boels’ scale and influence across Europe make them an important partner in improving industry standards and supporting safe work at height. We’re honoured to have you as a Sustaining Member.”
