Cattron has expanded its Tyro 2S product line with the introduction of the Tyro 2x2, a radio remote control package developed for hoist, jib crane and small lifting equipment applications.

The system combines Tyro Musca 2S transmitters with an AC-powered receiver to deliver a plug-and-play solution for two-motion, two-speed control. Additional configurations include options for one- or two-motion and one- or two-speed control, allowing the system to be adapted to specific operational requirements.

Designed as a ready-to-deploy package, each configuration includes two handheld transmitters and a low-profile receiver. The system uses wireless pairing to streamline setup, with installation possible in as little as 15 minutes.

The AC-powered receiver incorporates potential-free dry contact relays, a feature designed to align with standard crane and hoist system requirements and reduce the need for additional interface components.

“The Tyro 2x2 represents exactly the kind of compact, rugged solution for smaller lifting applications, like jib cranes and monorail systems, our customers have been asking for,” said Brian Fette, Cattron VP of engineering and product management. “OEMs and distributors in the crane and lifting market now have a complete, standardized package backed by Cattron’s global engineering expertise in radio remote control.”

The Musca 2S transmitters are built with IP67-rated, impact-resistant nylon housings and include features such as backlit membrane buttons, LED indicators and audible feedback. These features are intended to support usability in demanding environments.

Adaptive Frequency Protocols are used to provide consistent wireless communication, particularly in environments where interference may be a concern.

“The industry needs reliable two-speed control in a package that is easy to deploy and built to perform in rugged environments,” said Rebecca Weber, product manager for Cattron’s industrial solutions. “With four standard configurations and a 15-minute setup, the Tyro 2x2 makes professional-grade hoist control accessible to operations that previously had to compromise on capability or complexity.”

The Tyro 2x2 is part of a broader Tyro 2S portfolio, which includes a range of transmitters and receivers designed for industrial and lifting applications.
