Combilift Earns Red Dot Award for New CB70E Forklift

Combilift received the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2025 for its recently launched Combi-CB70E, a 7-ton electric multidirectional counterbalance forklift. This marks the Irish manufacturer’s third Red Dot win, following previous honors for its Combi-WR and Combi-CB4 models.

The Red Dot Award is one of the most recognized international competitions in product design, known for highlighting innovations that merge functionality, sustainability and aesthetics. The CB70E was recognized for its ergonomic features, zero-emission operation and ability to support heavy-duty, long-load handling in tight or complex work environments.

“We are delighted to receive our third Red Dot Award this year for the Combi-CB70E,” said Martin McVicar, CEO and co-founder of Combilift. “Our design and engineering teams have been striving to provide solutions that are not only functional and safe but also reflect excellence in industrial design. Our customers increasingly demand electric alternatives that don’t compromise on performance, and the CB70E is exactly that.”

Designed to meet growing industry demand for more sustainable equipment, the CB70E includes Combilift’s patented Independent Traction Control System and is fitted with large elastic rubber tires, making it capable of all-terrain operation while maintaining a zero-emission footprint. Its 7-ton lifting capacity makes it suitable for handling long and bulky materials in confined areas such as warehouses, construction sites and manufacturing facilities.

The CB70E features a gas strut suspension cab and floor-to-ceiling glazing for increased operator visibility and comfort. A standout design element is the auto swivel seat, which automatically pivots 15 degrees in the direction of travel to reduce operator strain during long shifts.

The Red Dot honor adds to a strong year for Combilift, which also received Product of the Year and an Ergonomics Award at the UKMHA Archies Awards, as well as multiple accolades from the UK’s Engineering & Manufacturing Awards.

With over 1,000 employees and exports to more than 85 countries, Combilift continues to be a key player in global materials handling innovation.
