Genie Adds to Super Boom Line with 150-Ft. SX-150

Genie's Super Boom product line continues to expand with the 150-ft. SX-150 telescopic lift. The machine reaches a full platform height of 151 ft. in under three minutes and offers four programmable height settings -- 150 ft., 135 ft., 120 ft , and 100 ft. -- and a 10-ft. jib rotates 160 degrees for platform repositioning (135 degrees vertical and 60 degrees horizontal). The turntable also rotates 360 degrees continuously.

With a horizontal outreach of 80 ft, this boom also offers 70 ft. of outreach at 120 ft. of its platform height. The SX-150 provides unrestricted range of motion with a 750-lb. lift capacity and a maximum of two people. A standard 7.5 kW on-board generator powers tools, including welders.

Weighing 50,700 lbs and offering a tail swing of 3'6" and ground clearance of 15 in., the boom lift is transportable on a standard trailer. No over-width or over-height permits are required.

The boom uses the X-chassis design that's identical to the SX-180 and ZX-135 boom lifts. The axles measure 8'2" wide when retracted and 16'6" when extended.

External sensors and manifolds are protected under steel covers that can be  removed. The unit uses a Deutz Tier 4 final engine with no regen or DPF. The SX-150 boom lift contains hydraulic hard lines wherever possible to increase durability while a four stage hydraulic filtration system ensures cleanliness.

“This product was designed with the service tech in mind,” said Adam Hailey, booms product manager for Terex AWP. All manifolds offer easy wrench access while a swing out engine tray provides easy service for maintenance access. The boom features easy to reach hydraulic filters, with a drop-in, in-tank filter for easy cleaning and replacement, as well as bulk-headed hydraulic lines so hoses can be removed and replaced in one piece. A boom extend system features a cylinder and wire rope cartridge for fast service or replacement.

The Genie SX-150 boom lift will be available worldwide beginning in April 2015.
