
Huddig has introduced the HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2, the next generation of its TIGON technology. The machine adds battery capacity, equipment options, and a connected platform to the previous TIGON generation.
The new model is based on four years of customer feedback, machine data, and practical experience from Huddig's first mass-produced TIGON machines. The existing TIGON fleet consists of 41 machines with a combined 96,306 operating hours.
Huddig's machine data shows that the fleet has been powered by electricity for 56.68% of its operating time and has saved an estimated 531,621 liters of diesel. The company says this corresponds to approximately 1,372 metric tons of CO₂.
“With nearly 100,000 hours of actual operation, we’ve had a very solid foundation for our development work. The larger battery makes it possible to run on electric power even more, and we therefore expect to be able to improve these figures even further with the TIGON G2 HUDDIG,” says Daniel Åkerström, design engineer at Huddig.
The 1370 TIGON G2 has a 61-kilowatt-hour battery, compared with 44 kilowatt-hours in the previous generation. Huddig describes the increase as nearly 40%.
The increased capacity provides more available energy and allows the machine to use more energy recovered during operation, including during braking and downhill travel.
The battery's optimal operating range is approximately 20% to 80%. Huddig says the larger battery provides more usable energy within that range, allowing for more electric operating time, more energy recovery, and fewer charging cycles over time.
Huddig has expanded the equipment options available for the TIGON G2. The machine can be equipped with a loader-mounted crane, Huddig's remote control, the LIFT Type II, and the LIFT 2200C. The LIFT 2200C can also be configured with the remote control and an insulated basket.
The company says the configurations allow the machine to be used for construction, utility, and railway work.
For contractors, it’s about being able to do more with the same machine. “The combination of extended electric runtime and more attachment options makes the HUDDIG TIGON G2 even more versatile and provides greater freedom to adapt the machine to the job at hand. The electric powertrain can also provide a clear competitive advantage in jobs where low emissions and low noise levels are becoming increasingly important,” says Daniel Myrgren, marketing and sales manager at Huddig.
The TIGON G2 is also compatible with Huddig Echo, a fleet management system for operators and machine owners. The web app provides access to operating data, machine status, fuel levels, and an overview of the machine fleet.
Huddig says the system can be used to track machines, plan work, and review how machines are being used. Future development is expected to provide additional ways to interact directly with the machines.
The HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2 will make its first live public appearance September 10 to 12 at Entreprenad Live in Knutstorp, where Huddig will participate alongside Staffare AB.
