At the ICUEE 2017 exposition in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 3-5, JCB gave the industry a glimpse of a new sub-compact telehandler it plans to launch early next year.
Although the company kept most information about the new model, named the 503-13 Loadall, close to the vest, it did let out a few tidbits.
Based on JCB's naming convention, it appears the 503-13 will lift up to 3,000 lbs. and have a maximum lifting height of 13 ft.
It is designed to work in very tight spaces, and has an overall height of just 6 ft.
In addition, it has a hydrostatic transmission for good travel power and speed, and it comes equipped with a skid-steer coupler so it can use a wide variety of readily available attachments.
Although JCB displayed the 503-13 on a heavy trailer with a pintle connection, the company says the tiny telehandler is light enough to be towed by a vehicle that can be driven on a standard driver's license (no CDL needed).
