JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation business and global manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, released a whitepaper outlining its vision for the future of connected, intelligent job sites.
The Job Site of the Future: From Equipment-Centric to Ecosystem Orchestration whitepaper details a shift in job site management, moving beyond traditional equipment operation to fully integrated environments where machines, digital platforms and workers coordinate in real time.
“For decades, job sites have relied on access equipment, such as mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, to complete tasks at height,” said Nate Hoover, JLG’s senior director of product management. “In JLG’s vision for the future, these machines do more, part of an interconnected ecosystem that communicates, coordinates and optimizes operations in real-time — enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime and improving safety.”
The whitepaper introduces Ecosystem Orchestration, a framework focused on dynamic equipment monitoring, real-time data sharing, automated workflows, and seamless integration of digital systems and labor.
JLG also unveiled two concept technologies designed to illustrate how job sites might evolve:
Both technologies leverage JLG’s ClearSky Smart Fleet system to support autonomous, efficient, and sustainable operations.
According to the company, these advancements aim to:
“The job site of the future is no longer a distant concept — it’s emerging today,” Hoover added. “Our vision is that smarter, more responsive work environments can minimize risks and maximize human potential.”
