LiuGong North America has expanded its equipment offerings with the introduction of its battery-electric construction and material handling portfolio in the North American market.
The company said the electric equipment platform is supported by more than 60,000 battery-electric machines operating globally and millions of operating hours collected from real-world applications.
LiuGong said it has spent more than 15 years proving its battery-electric technology in commercial environments before introducing the equipment to North America. The machines have been deployed across applications including ports, warehouses, container terminals, municipal operations, mining, aggregates, tunneling and construction.
The company said experience gathered from these machines has driven improvements in battery systems, charging technology, thermal management, diagnostics and serviceability.
A LiuGong battery-electric wheel loader has exceeded 20,000 operating hours in continuous production service. The company said the machine accumulated those hours on an active jobsite, rather than in a controlled testing environment.
Electric Equipment Designed for Multiple Applications
The initial North American battery-electric lineup includes the 856HE Battery-Electric Wheel Loader, 820TE Battery-Electric Loader, 924FE Battery-Electric Excavator and LRSE4531E Fully Electric 45-Ton Reach Stacker.
The company is also expanding its battery-electric forklift, warehouse equipment and material handling product offerings, with additional products expected throughout 2027.
LiuGong said the equipment was engineered specifically for North American operations, including compatibility with regional charging standards, electrical infrastructure, software requirements, safety certifications, environmental conditions and dealer service practices.
The battery-electric machines use a liquid-cooled Battery Management System (BMS) based on Cell-to-Pack battery architecture. The system monitors battery health, charging, thermal performance, diagnostics and safety systems.
Warranty Coverage Announced for Electric Equipment
LiuGong said warranty coverage for its battery-electric equipment was developed through years of battery engineering and commercial operating experience.
For battery-electric construction equipment, warranty coverage includes three years or 4,000 operating hours for the complete machine, five years or 7,000 operating hours for transmission, axles and hydraulic components and five years or 10,000 operating hours for battery packs, electric drive motors and hydraulic drive motors.
For battery-electric lithium-ion forklifts, warranty coverage includes three years or 6,000 operating hours for the complete machine, five years or 10,000 operating hours for powertrain, drive motor, electric motor and controllers and 10 years or 20,000 operating hours for the lithium-ion power battery.
“Customers shouldn’t have to choose between proven performance and zero-emission technology,” said Andrew Ryan, president of LiuGong North America. “Our battery-electric platform has already proven itself through millions of commercial operating hours around the world. Now we’re bringing that experience to North America with machines engineered specifically for this market and backed by years of commercial operation.”
LiuGong said its North American battery-electric rollout builds on more than 60,000 battery-electric machines operating globally and millions of operating hours in commercial applications.
