Niftylift, a global manufacturer of mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), is marking five years at its Greer, South Carolina, facility — a milestone in its continued expansion across the U.S. market. This anniversary coincides with Niftylift’s global 40th anniversary of engineering and innovation.
The company’s U.S. growth has been significant, with sales increasing more than 4,000% since it first established a U.S. presence in 2005. That expansion accelerated in 2020 with the opening of a purpose-built facility in Greer, a move that strengthened customer support and spare parts distribution for Niftylift’s range of boom lifts.
Niftylift’s U.S. roots trace back even further. Niftylift Inc. was founded in 1995 and initially operated through a dealer network. Over the decades, the company has grown by emphasizing long-term relationships with customers and adopting a philosophy that “people like to buy from people.”
“Our team in Greer is trusted in the industry,” said Jon Hedlund, vice president of sales for Niftylift in the U.S. “We are people who know our machines, understand our customers’ needs and are always ready to help. That connection and service-first mindset is what sets us apart.”
In addition to service, Niftylift has continued to innovate in MEWP technology. The company has seen a rise in demand for hybrid power systems over the past five years, driven by the need for lower emissions and quieter operation in urban or indoor environments. Popular hybrid models, such as the SP50N, SP50 4x4 and SP50E, offer tier 4 final-compliant diesel engines paired with electric motors. This configuration allows for zero-emission electric-only operation when needed.
“We’ve seen a real shift in the market over the last five years,” Hedlund said. “Where it was once all diesel, more customers are now asking for hybrid options. They want the performance they trust, but with lower emissions and quieter operation. Our hybrid models deliver just that.”
The company also offers advanced telematics through its Niftylink platform. This system provides real-time insights into machine performance, usage and location, helping customers reduce downtime and plan maintenance more effectively. Other innovations include an advanced exhaust purification system and a Diesel Re-Gen feature that recharges batteries while the engine is running.
“Niftylift is growing its footprint in the U.S. by combining innovative, sustainable technology with a service-first approach,” Hedlund added. “In a consolidating market, our focus remains clear. That is to develop advanced solutions that support our customers’ success and to building partnerships that last.”
As it celebrates five years in Greer and 40 years globally, Niftylift continues to prioritize engineering innovation and customer relationships to meet evolving demands in the aerial lift market.
