One Hundredth Grove GMK5250L Delivered in First Year

Only one year after introducing the GMK5250L, Manitowoc has delivered the 100th unit of the 250-tonne (300-U.S.-ton) all-terrain crane.

German rental company Armbruster Autokran-Vermietung, based in Pliezhausen, has added the groundbreaking new Grove to its fleet of 14 machines.

“We proudly welcome the 100th GMK5250L to our fleet and we are excited to provide our customers a real added value,” said General Manager Bernd Armbruster during the handover celebration in Wilhelmshaven, where the GMK5250L is manufactured.

The GMK5250L features a 70m (230-ft.) seven-section telescopic boom. Jibs up to 37m (121 ft.) long can be added for a maximum tip height of 110m (361 ft.). The crane cab is equipped with Manitowoc’s standardized, operator-friendly Crane Control System (CCS).

The five-axle carrier features the innovative VIAB turbo clutch, which offers several benefits, including wear-free starting and braking, and reduced fuel consumption. The carrier also features all-wheel steering for outstanding maneuverability and five outrigger positions to adapt to jobsite conditions.
