Work Truck Week 2026 will again include its Ride & Drive event, giving attendees the chance to drive and ride in commercial vehicles featuring updated powertrains and technology.

Held in downtown Indianapolis, Ride & Drive will take place March 11 and 12 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is open to all Work Truck Week participants at no additional cost and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

The vehicles on display will span Classes 2 through 7 and include a wide range of battery-electric and internal combustion models designed to reduce fuel use and emissions.

“Ride & Drive is a unique opportunity for anyone at Work Truck Week to spend some hands-on time out on the road with the latest commercial vehicles and the technology that drives them,” says Chris Lyon, NTEA director of fleet relations. “They can choose to drive or ride along to take notes and photos. Manufacturer reps for each vehicle will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.”

Ride & Drive will feature 16 vehicles from 14 companies, bringing multiple manufacturers and technology providers together in one location. In addition to street route driving, attendees can view static displays highlighting alternative power solutions and specialized equipment.

Vehicles expected to be available include:

  • Battery-electric trucks from Blue Arc, Hino, Isuzu, Mack and Peterbilt
  • Fully electric Mercedes-Benz eSprinter van
  • Ford Transit and Super Duty models
  • Ram ProMaster van
  • Rivian R1T electric pickup

Several vehicles equipped with Allison fully automatic transmissions and uprated transmission systems will also be available.

Kenworth Truck Company and Harbinger are among the additional participating original equipment manufacturers. Allison Transmission will demonstrate its automatic transmissions and eGen Power e-Axles through its mobile experience trailer.

Static equipment on display will include a compact slope tractor from the Shyft Group/Aebi Schmidt Group and a hydrogen-powered genset and fast-charging system from Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Inc. and Nuvera.

Work Truck Week runs March 10–13, 2026, at the Indiana Convention Center and includes the Work Truck Show, Green Truck Summit, educational programming and industry meetings.
