Sinoboom has introduced an upgraded telematics platform that uses manufacturer-specific machine data to provide information on equipment condition, maintenance, utilization, and operational performance.
Called AI-Link, the platform builds on Sinoboom’s existing i-Link telematics offering. It uses OEM-level diagnostic signals and parameters to provide more detailed information about individual machines while connecting equipment data with digital service and operational workflows.
AI-Link connects data from machine controllers and key components with platform-based services, allowing equipment to be monitored, diagnosed, and remotely updated. The platform also provides information on machine productivity, utilization, and downtime.
Sinoboom said AI-Link can operate independently or provide deeper-level data alongside existing telematics systems such as Trackunit.
The platform incorporates Internet of Things (IoT) technology, big data, and artificial intelligence across six capabilities.
AI-Link captures OEM machine data for diagnostics and condition monitoring and uses industrial-grade e-SIM technology to provide connectivity across multiple regions. FOTA supports remote firmware updates, while DOTA provides advanced remote diagnostics.
The system also incorporates identity authentication, role-based permissions, and audit trails to support equipment security and controlled machine access and operation.
An open API allows the platform to integrate with existing business systems and telematics solutions. AI-powered troubleshooting analysis can also turn machine data into recommended actions for service and maintenance operations.
For fleet managers, data from engines, batteries, controllers, and other components can provide earlier visibility into potential anomalies and assist with fault assessment. Where applicable, remote diagnostics and FOTA can allow certain issues to be addressed or firmware to be updated without a site visit.
AI-Link also goes beyond machine location and operating status by providing data on productivity and utilization rates. The system can flag unplanned downtime, providing information that can be used for fleet allocation, dispatch, and operational analysis.
Ben Xie, head of the Sinoboom Intelligent Research Institute and global CIO, said: “AI-Link has already been rolled out to over 100,000 machines globally, with overwhelmingly positive feedback received so far. Our customers appreciate the range of available functions on top of location tracking – operation is safer thanks to the higher security measures, and fleet management is more efficient and simple.”
Despite the global rollout cited by Sinoboom, products sold in North America and Europe are not currently configured with AI-Link. The company said the decision is in line with the specific requirements and market needs of those regions.
