Skyjack received two product awards at the International Powered Access Federation’s (IPAF) North America Working at Height Conference & Awards in Orlando, Florida, on October 29, 2026. The company’s SJ45 AJN and SJ45 ARJN battery-powered electric slab booms won the New Product Award in the Boom Lifts category, while its SKYPROTECT and SKYPROTECT+ secondary guarding systems for scissor lifts received the Technology Innovation Award.

The Working at Height Awards recognize products, people, and organizations in the powered access and work-at-height sectors.

“Skyjack takes pride in providing products that meet true jobsite performance expectations for a wide range of indoor and outdoor construction, maintenance, and industrial applications. Skyjack continues to show its commitment to creating equipment and sharing expertise that contributes to safe workplaces,” shared Charlie Patterson, Skyjack president. “Thank you to IPAF North America for recognizing Skyjack’s innovative new booms and accessories.”

The SJ45 AJN and SJ45 ARJN battery-powered electric slab booms have a working height of 50 feet, 11 inches (15.69 meters). Both models are designed for indoor and outdoor applications and operate with zero emissions and low noise.

The SJ45 AJN has a platform capacity of 500 pounds (227 kilograms), a standard 4-foot, 8-inch (1.4-meter) jib, and a width of 4 feet, 11 inches (1.5 meters). Its up-and-over access capability reaches 25 feet, 7 inches (7.8 meters).

The SJ45 ARJN includes a rotating jib that provides 180 degrees of horizontal movement under ANSI standards or 132 degrees under CE standards. The movement allows operators to position the platform.

Both models can pass through standard double doors and have a stowed height of 6 feet, 6 inches (1.98 meters). Each weighs less than 16,000 pounds (7,258 kilograms).

Skyjack’s SKYPROTECT and SKYPROTECT+ systems received the Technology Innovation Award. Both are secondary guarding options for scissor lifts designed to detect potential collision hazards above the operator.

SKYPROTECT uses an ultrasonic sensor mounted on a control box to monitor the area above the operator. When an obstruction enters an adjustable warning zone, the system activates an audible warning and an emergency-stop light. If the obstruction reaches the stop zone, the operator can choose to override the system or remain stopped.

SKYPROTECT+ combines SKYPROTECT with Skyjack’s existing secondary enable switch. The additional switch provides functionality for lifting and reverse driving.

IPAF also named Skyjack Product Safety Training Supervisor Bart Krzysztofek its Person of the Year. The award recognizes his contributions to advancing safe working practices at height across North America.

Skyjack’s SJ3232 E electric-drive slab scissor lift and LanyardGO harness lanyard detection system for boom lifts were also shortlisted for the 2026 Working at Height Awards.
