VMAC Named Finalist in Canada's Best Managed Companies

VMAC has been named a finalist in Canada's Best Managed Companies for 2018. This prestigious business awards program was established in 1993 and recognizes Canadian owned and managed companies for their management abilities and practices.

"Writing the application for Best Managed Companies was a great opportunity to identify what aspects of organizational management can be improved, and also reflect on what initiatives are working well and providing value to the business," says Tod Gilbert, VMAC's Executive Vice-President. "To have the VMAC management team recognized as a finalist for these national awards is just icing on the cake."

Hundreds of Canadian companies each year submit comprehensive applications, but only a fraction of these companies are recognized as finalists after a rigorous and independent assessment of each company's strategy, capability, commitment and return on investment. In addition, regional economic conditions and industry trends are considered in each company's application.

"It was a proud moment to hear VMAC's name called after seeing the caliber of the other finalists that made the list," says Sandra Amador, VMAC's Director of Continuous Improvement. "Not only is it validating to be a finalist, it's also a great reminder to our management team of the impact their daily efforts and practices have in our organization."

The winners of Canada's Best Managed Companies will be announced publicly this March in Maclean's and La Presse media outlets. Canada's Best Managed winners will celebrate at the 2018 National Best Managed Symposium and Gala in Toronto this April.

This announcement comes on the heels of VMAC winning the Manufactured Products Category at the 2017 BC Export Awards.
