It was another record year at the Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference (EUFMC). More than 600 registrations for the 72nd annual conference included 177 fleet representatives from 107 investor-owned utilities, 34 utility contractors, 10 utility cooperatives, 12 municipal operations and 14 other fleets that operate, manage and maintain utility equipment. In attendance were 62 new fleet representatives from four new companies. Joining the fleets were 350 supplier representatives from 97 companies.
“Record participation at EUFMC is a reminder of the value that the conference educational program, equipment events, networking opportunities and special activities offer,” said EUFMC President Greg Loew, Avista Utilities. “The ongoing success of the industry’s premier educational and equipment event for fleets stems from the support of our attendees and sponsors.”
In 2025, that tradition continued. The conference educational program, Driving Safety, Sustainability &Technical Expertise, featured 10 sessions with presentations by 27 fleet executives, manufacturers and industry experts:
Keynote Address: Delivered by Natalia Saldarriaga, vice president, Facilities and Field Services, Shared Services at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, the presentation covered the outlook for America’s energy infrastructure and the utility’s transportation and building electrification initiatives.
EV Charging Advancements: Southern California Edison (SCE) shared an overview of their fleet electrification efforts, what SCE is pursuing for fleet charging including a new dynamic charger business case, an Electric Vehicle (EV) business resiliency study plus details on real-life field deployments of mobile EV chargers to laydown yards.
Quality Assurance Programs for Fleets: Industry leaders discussed how a successful closed loop Quality Assurance Program can not only improve your preventive maintenance program but substantially reduce your risk from catastrophic events.
Senior Leadership Alignment: Fleet professionals shared the importance of being aligned with senior leadership and their strategies for how to create and maintain those connections.
Advanced Fuel Sourcing and Purchasing: Commonwealth Edison shared advanced fuel strategies including premium fuels, management of purchase points and fraud reduction.
Safety Leadership: Eric Kapitulik, founder of The Program, built on his focus during the 2024 EUFMC on addressing breakdowns in fleet safety processes and procedures.
Safety Engaging Cultures: Fleet professionals discussed how leadership culture is driving safety improvements like building accountability and how data can drive changes.
Procurement Strategies for EPA 2027: With ever-changing emissions requirements and advances in technology, equipment chassis procurement can be a moving target. This panel explored how manufacturers are approaching these changes and the strategies some fleet managers are using to keep their fleets compliant and reliable.
Artificial Intelligence in Fleet Management: Industry experts discussed how Artificial Intelligence can help fleet professionals succeed and what to expect from current technology.
Rental Strategies in Difficult Financial Times: Why are companies opting for rentals or maintaining an in-house pool of vehicles and equipment? Are they facing capital restrictions that make renting more feasible than purchasing? This panel discussed the topic from the perspectives of equipment rental vendors, a utility fleet and a contractor who rents equipment.
Roundtables: An EUFMC signature event brought together fleet representatives and suppliers to discuss mutual challenges and find solutions.
The 73rd annual EUFMC will be held May 31 - June 3, 2026. For more information, visit www.eufmc.com.

“EUFMC isn’t just another industry event — it’s a hub of innovation, collaboration and practical learning. The opportunity to engage directly with peers from across the country, explore cutting-edge equipment and dive into sessions on electrification, safety and data-driven fleet management is invaluable. These insights help me make smarter decisions that directly impact our fleet’s efficiency, sustainability and bottom line.”
Stuart Wilkie, fleet manager, PacifiCorp
“As a first-year attendee, my experience at EUFMC was awesome. This is a big event as far as the number of attendees, but it has a community atmosphere that allows time to connect with people about work in a relaxed environment. I also appreciated the speakers and information sessions that provided a perspective on what was happening in the industry with some learning moments to sharpen my leadership and management skills.”
Marco van Enter, vice president support services, Valard Construction
“It was energizing at EUFMC to be around so many professionals from across the country who share the same goals and challenges, and especially valuable, reassuring and motivating to connect with other utility fleet managers and hear that many of us are navigating similar issues. One of the highlights for me were the Roundtables, which were incredibly insightful.”
Bill Koselnak, transportation operating supervisor, Orange and Rockland Utilities
“EUFMC is extremely beneficial. It is tailored to fleet staff and provides a good overall experience from the location and venue to the speakers, panels and roundtables. At the end of the day, we’re all working for the same industry. As a platform for networking, EUFMC allows us to lean on each other as beginners and experts to better understand opportunities that we all have, and how to overcome some of the same issues that all fleet departments face.”
