JLG Participates in National Safety Stand-Down Week

May 6, 2019 — JLG Industries, an Oshkosh Corporation company, is supporting National Fall Prevention Safety Stand-Down Week May 6-10 through internal stand-down events and external education with customers and end users.

In coordination with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), these national efforts focus attention on preventing falls, the leading cause of workplace injuries.

ARA Forecast Continues to Project Steady Growth

May 6, 2019 - The new five-year forecast from the American Rental Association (ARA), updated on May 2, calls for equipment and event rental revenues in North America to surpass $61.3 billion in 2019, including $55.8 billion in the United States and $5.3 billion in Canada — up 5.0 percent compared to 2018.

Similar steady growth is expected in each of the successive years of the forecast to reach $69.8 billion in revenue by 2022.

United Rentals Names Former Riwal CEO to New Executive Role

United Rentals appointed Norty Turner to the newly created role of senior vice president of services and advanced solutions.

Turner, the former CEO of Riwal, will oversee four business units, including United Academy, customer equipment service, customer fleet solutions, and advanced solutions. His role will have a distinctive focus on building out service and solution platforms to better support customers.

Serious Labs Awards, Certifies Contest Winner at Bauma

Apr 25, 2019 - Attracting visitors to test their operating skills on its Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) VR simulator at Bauma in Munich, Germany, Edmonton-based Serious Labs announced the winner of its “Smooth Operator” contest: Nico Reinhold of Nimo Industries. Reinhold not only won the grand prize, but was also officially certified as a MEWP operator.

Honnen Equipment Opens New Wyoming Facility

April 22, 2019 - Honnen Equipment has relocated to a new facility in Gillette, Wyoming, to accommodate growth, while increasing space to provide even more service for customers.

Honnen is an authorized dealer for JLG telehandlers and other equipment. The new facility allows the company to provide in-shop service for all makes and manufacturers, and the increased parts warehouse allows for better parts fill on wear parts and repair parts.

Capitol Investment Corp. to Purchase Nesco

April 9, 2019 - Capitol Investment Corp. announced it is buying Nesco, a provider of specialty rental equipment to the electric utility, telecom, and rail end-markets.  

Nesco offers a nationwide rental fleet of approximately 4,000 units to a diverse customer base for the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and installation of critical infrastructure assets including electric lines, telecommunications networks, and rail systems. Nesco also offers service, parts, tools, and accessories needed to fully equip crews for activity in the field. 

IPAF Launches Street Smart Safety Campaign for MEWPs

April 9, 2019 - Working safely on or next to roads is the focus of a new campaign from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), launched at Bauma 2019 in Germany.

IPAF’s Street Smart safety campaign outlines the dangers of using mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) on or next to roads. With the risk of being struck by a passing vehicle such as bus or truck, prior planning is needed so the MEWP can operate safely.
