Skyjack's XStep Helps Keep Operators Safe

Launched in October 2021, XStep is the latest product in Skyjack's Accessoryzers line.

To help prevent the unsafe practice of climbing on the guardrails, Xstep helps operators safely gain additional work height in tight spaces while maximizing functionality and productivity.

"With customer feedback in mind, we introduced XStep to give operators options to access hard-to-reach places like between HVAC units, piping, and anything close to the top of ceilings," says Rafael Bazzarella, Product Manager at Skyjack. "Unlike some other systems, Skyjack's XStep provides a firm, steady, and stronger raised platform.”

Bazzarella adds that since the XStep is not an integral part of a specially ordered machine, it can  be added or removed at will.

Modular design lets the Xstep be installed quickly by one person without special tools. It can be used on the current SJ3215 and SJ3219 models or retrofitted to the previous Skyjack SJIII3215 and SJIII3219 scissor models. XStep can also be moved easily from one scissor to another, increasing a rental company's fleet flexibility.

XStep is mounted on the mid-rail of the scissor lift to give users an additional 19” of working height. The top rail design and height provide operators with 360° of security as a conventional platform, allowing them to work freely with both hands.

When not in use, the base can swing down to maximize the platform's area, and the rails can retract, allowing normal operation. When stowed, XStep allows use of the RAPIDFOLD system on the SJ3219 for additional convenience.

Customers can order it from the factory for new models and from Skyjack's parts department for older models like the SJIII series and the current SJ3219 machines.
