OSHA Issues Proposed Rule to Extend Compliance Deadline for Crane Operator Certification Requirements | Construction News

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) today issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to extend the employer's responsibility to ensure crane operator competency and enforcement for crane operator certification to Nov. 10, 2018.

OSHA issued a final rule in September 2014, extending the deadline by three years for crane operator certification requirements in the Cranes and Derricks in Construction standard. The final rule also extended by three years the employer's responsibility to ensure that crane operators are competent to operate a crane safely.

AEM Poll: Rural-Urban Agreement on Need for Infrastructure Investment

August 16, 2017 - An overwhelming majority of Americans in urban, suburban and rural communities believe that investing in infrastructure will improve the U.S. economy according to a new poll released Tuesday by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). 

While infrastructure needs differ in different parts of the country, the new survey shows that adults strongly support modernizing U.S. infrastructure and believe that investments will create jobs and improve their quality of life.

New England Crane School in New Hampshire and Cranes101 in Massachusetts are now approved as NCCER Accredited Training and Assessment Centers (ATS/AAC), under the sponsorship and support of Crane Industry Services.
