Accident Tips Boom Truck Up onto Rear | Construction News

Van Nuys, Calif., May 2013—A boom truck tipped up onto its rear with the truck cab pointing skyward while handling wooden roof trusses for an new apartment building. The rig’s telescopic crane was extended past the rear of the truck and at long radius to place a load of roof trusses down a narrow space between the new building and the one next door when the accident happened. The truck tipped up onto the rear outriggers and the back of the truck’s bed. No injuries were reported. – www.ktla.com
