ALL Announces Equipment Purchases

The ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. family of companies, Cleveland, Ohio, has fortified its all-terrain crane fleet in the long-boom 250-ton to 350-ton range with the purchase of Manitowoc’s new 350-ton Grove GMK6300L. The crane, painted and lettered for Central Contractor Services, a member of the ALL family, will be the showpiece of the Manitowoc booth at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 in Las Vegas, Nev., in March.

“This new 6300 is an exciting addition to our AT fleet,” said Michael Liptak, ALL president. “The long boom is really what makes this crane special—in this case, size really does matter. We’re excited to take this home and put it to work for our customers.”

The GMK6300L is part of a multi-piece equipment purchase from Manitowoc, Manitowoc, Wis., that underscores ALL’s commitment to continually upgrading its already expansive and technologically advanced fleet. Additional new equipment includes a Grove GMK7550, the largest all-terrain crane available from Manitowoc (slated for ALL’s Gulf region); a Grove GMK6250-L AT crane; a Manitowoc 2250 lattice-boom crawler crane; two Manitowoc Model 16000 luffing jibs and a 16000 wind attachment; and a Manitowoc 18000 MAX-ER attachment.

The GMK6300L ranks among the strongest in lifting capability compared with other six-axle ATs and offers more power when lifting at tall heights. The GMK6300L has significant advantages over other cranes with similar boom lengths, according to the company. The seven-section, 51- to 263-foot full power main boom is the longest in the Grove product range and is designed for strong lifts without the need to rig the jib. There are five available outrigger positions, more than any other crane in this capacity class, giving greater flexibility.
