ALL Technicians Complete CANBus Training

A total of 12 qualified field service technicians from ALL branches throughout the country successfully completed the four-and-a-half day Controller Area Network (CAN)bus assembly, operation and maintenance (AOM) course sponsored by Manitowoc Crane CARE, Manitowoc, Wis.

CANbus, designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other within a vehicle without a host computer, is the newest technology in crane control systems for Manitowoc lattice boom crawler crane models 14000, 15000, and 16000. The CANbus 2 AOM course includes the analysis of information contained in the setup and operation chapters of the crane manual for these models. The class covers safe assembly procedures, layout and functional properties of all cab controls, boom rigging and assembly, proper configuration of RCI/RCL based on load chart specifications, pre-operational checks, daily maintenance and calibrations, and diagnostics screens. 

The 12 technicians that received a certificate of completion for a Manitowoc accredited training course came from ALL Crane Rental of Alabama, Whistler, Ala.; ALL Crane Rental of Georgia, Austell, Ga.; ALL Crane Rental of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn.; ALL Canada Cranes & Aerials, Mississauga, Ontario; Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, Milwaukee, Wis.; Central Contractors Service, Crestwood, Ill.; Central Rent-A-Crane of Elkhart, Ind.; and Jeffers Crane Service, Oregon, Ohio.
