Cargotec Receives Load Handling Equipment Order for U.S. Army

Cargotec’s Hiab division, in Perrysburg, Ohio, has received an order to deliver 292 HIAB loader cranes to BAE Systems Inc., Rockville, Md. Delivery of the equipment will start during the first quarter of 2009, with most of the deliveries taking place during 2009. The end user of the equipment is the U.S. Army.

The new crane type, HIAB 222ATF-1, is specifically designed for the Army’s Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) wrecker vehicles. It represents the most modern load-handling technology for military use in extreme operating conditions, according to a Cargotec press release.
