CIC Holds Practical Examiner Workshop

Crane Institute Certification (CIC) recently completed a series of Practical Examiner Workshops for rigger and signalperson examiners.  These CIC Examiners are now authorized to conduct accredited certification exams for CIC Qualified Signalpersons, Qualified Basic Rigger, and Qualified Advanced Rigger candidates.

The workshop was conducted Dec. 6-10, 2010 in Memphis, Tenn., for U.S. and Canadian participants from four states and one province. A special three-day course, provided by Mike Parnell, president of Industrial Training International, helped prepare participants for the qualification exams (written and practical) and the related CIC Practical Examiner training/testing.  The next examiner training session will be in first quarter of 2011 in Florida.

The signalperson and rigger CIC certifications help construction employees achieve the necessary qualification status as required by the new OSHA requirements in 29CFR1926.1400. CIC provides OSHA-recognized, NCCA -accredited certifications for crane operators, riggers, and signalpersons.
