The Crane Institute of America now offers the metric edition of Rigging, a rigging handbook by Crane Institute president and 40-year crane-industry veteran James Headley.
Providing practical information and great illustrations, the Rigging Metric handbook contains the latest information, including capacity tables and charts, on wire rope, rigging hardware, and slings.
“For years, the handbook Rigging has been popular outside the United States for use in training,” said Headley. “Customers in Canada, South America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East have been asking for a metric version of the book.”
Along with tables of rated capacities for slings and rigging hardware, the book covers how to calculate load weight, how to calculate sling loading, and proper load-handling techniques.
The information applies to rigging operations everywhere. Offering two versions of the book lets trainers and students learn in the measurement system they use every day. It is a resource that improves communication, understanding, and safety.
The book can be ordered at the Crane Institute’s online store.
