Crane & Rigging Conference Gains Industry Support

Shortly after announcing plans for the 2010 Crane & Rigging Conference, Maximum Capacity Media, publisher of Crane Hot Line, has secured key partnerships for the event. Event Partners are Crane Inspection and Certification Bureau (CICB), Orlando, Fla., and Bishop Lifting Products Inc. (BLP), Houston. The conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Houston/Greenspoint in Houston, Texas, May 26-27, 2010.

“In the short time since our initial announcement regarding the event, we’ve had an encouraging amount of response from industry professionals,” said Guy Ramsey, president and publisher of Maximum Capacity Media, Fort Dodge, Iowa. "Individuals are asking to make presentations and offering to work with us to make this a success.”

Ramsey continued: “I’m grateful for the enthusiasm and confidence in the event shown by Craig Epperson, president and CEO of CICB, and David Moseley, vice president of marketing for BLP. These companies have committed to being the Event Partners for both the Crane & Rigging Conference and the Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference.” The two meetings will run simultaneously.

Other sponsorships are also available at the associate level or for lunch, breakfast, or cocktail events, as well as for conference materials. These opportunities are limited and will be sold on a first-come first-served basis. To guarantee a spot, contact Mark Bridger, director of business development, at (480) 231-9672 or mbridger@maxcapmedia.com.

In addition, Cranes Today magazine has been named the International Media Partner for the Crane & Rigging Conference. It will promote the event to its global readership. “I am excited by the prospect of working closely with Maximum Capacity Media both in the short- and long-term future,” said Richard Howes, group editor of Cranes Today. “It is an outstanding U.S.-based cranes publisher with tremendous outreach to the end user markets of North and South America.”

Howes continued: "With the recession loosening its grip, I am confident that the conference will represent a timely opportunity for delegates and exhibitors alike to ensure they are best placed to thrive in the revitalized marketplace. I look forward to working with Maximum Capacity Media's staff and customers as the Crane & Rigging Conference and the Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference take shape."

Venue Selected for Conference and Reach Expo 2010

The conference will be held in conjunction with Reach Expo 2010, where suppliers and vendors will showcase products and services. Reach Expo will run concurrently with the conference. Show times will be scheduled around breaks, meals, and cocktail hours. Attendees representing both construction and industrial markets will attend the exhibition.

The Crowne Plaza Houston/Greenspoint offers an ideal venue for the event. Located just eight miles from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the hotel underwent a $16 million renovation in 2008. Both George Bush Intercontinental and William P Hobby airports offer direct flights to many U.S. cities. As a convenience, the Crowne Plaza offers free shuttle service from George Bush Intercontinental.

Houston was selected for its proximity to major construction and heavy industrial complexes. Its petrochemical base means that the region has not felt the affects of the economy as strongly as other areas. “Houston is one of the largest petrochemical centers in the world. Serviced by a major port, it is also home to many major manufacturing and oil exploration concerns. This combined with an active construction market, translates into a large concentration of cranes of all types at work in the area,” said Ramsey.
