Crane Symposium Program Announced

The Cranes Technology Committee of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST), will host the 17th Annual Crane Symposium  June 13-15, at the Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh, Pa. The Symposium will deliver practical information and experiences from crane maintenance personnel, crane manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and engineering consultants who strive to make the EOT cranes and their runways the safest, most reliable, durable machinery and equipment in the industry.

This year's two-day program will include presentations focused on safe work practices and ergonomics; electrical, mechanical and structural maintenance techniques; crane inspection technologies; and best practices in EOT crane modernizations.  As part of the program, the winner of the Crane Innovator of the Year Award will be announced. The award recognizes the individual who has brought forth the latest in technology, or increased efficiencies in operational and maintenance practices for the continuous improvement of heavy industrial cranes. 

For advance registration by May 14, 2010, the member rate is $775; the non-member rate is $990. After May 14th, the registration fee for members is $875; for non-members, $1,090. The registration fee includes the Sunday evening welcome reception; continental breakfasts, lunches, and continuous breaks Monday and Tuesday; a reception Monday evening; and a course workbook.  A block of rooms has been reserved at The Sheraton Station Square Hotel.  Please call Sheraton at (412) 261-2000 the Sheraton by May 20, 2010, and mention AIST/Crane Symposium to secure the AIST discount rate of $145 per night for single/double occupancy.
