Crane Tips Onto Scaffolding | Construction News

Catonsville, Md., April 2013—No injuries were reported after a 70-ton crane fell over at an apartment complex construction site. The director of environmental health and safety said the crane’s placement on top of a hill caused it to fall over when the boom was extended. The boom fell into some scaffolding, but the director said there was limited property damage. Two additional cranes were brought in to extricate the fallen crane. The Maryland Department of the Environment and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health were contacted after the incident. The official cause of the incident is still under investigation. – www.retrieverweekly.com
