Equipment Safety Services Sponsors Crane Operator Rodeo at Showcase

MCM Events announces that Equipment Safety Services will be sponsoring the Crane Operator Rodeo portion of the Lift and Access Showcase & Symposium, which will be held Nov. 8-9 at West World in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Crane Rodeo is a unique way for crane operators to become acquainted with the controls of different machines. Attendees will be able to sit in the cab and explore the controls of each participating crane, which will include industrial carrydecks and 15- to 18-ton non-CDL boom trucks.

Additionally, qualified operators certified through any of the third-party operator certification programs (NCCCO, CIC, NCCER, or OECP) will have the opportunity to participate in a time and skill test. Operators will be tested on the fundamentals of crane operation, including hand signals, rigging, and practical crane operation, according to Brian Doonan, president and principal of Equipment Safety Services. The site will be set up with test weights to run the designated test cranes through a mock operator course. "Safety will be key," Doonan said. Participants with the best time and score will receive the Top Gun prize.

The Lift and Access Showcase & Symposium is designed to display current and new lifting technology in an interactive format, as well as a venue to learn more about products and their capabilities through hands-on demonstrations and clinics. General admission to the Crane Rodeo and the rest of the Showcase is free to qualified individuals, which include rental companies, service facilities, contractors, and more. Attendees must qualify as a user, buyer, or operator to attend for free.
