Ideal Crane Rental Adds Six Liebherr Cranes to Fleet | Construction News

Ideal Crane Rental Inc., Madison, Wis., purchased cranes from all three of Liebherr's crane-producing companies during the recent Bauma trade show in Munich, Germany.

The six cranes included four 6.6-ton model 81K self-erecting tower cranes, a 110-ton LTR 1100 telescopic-boom crawler crane, and a 330-ton LR1300SX lattice-boom crawler crane.

The 81K is manufactured in Bieberach, Germany; the LTR 1100 is made in Ehingen, Germany; and the LR 1300SX is made in Nenzing, Austria.

Liebherr representatives said that it is somewhat unusual to sell cranes from all three of Liebherr’s crane-producing companies to a single customer at the same event.

Gernot Schranz, president of Liebherr Nenzing Crane Co., said, “Being able to do business with Ideal Crane Rental by providing market leading cranes from each of our crane producing companies is very rewarding. We are pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of Ideal Crane’s future growth and success.”

Bob Kalhagen, owner and CEO of Ideal Crane Rental Inc., said, “We were impressed with what Liebherr had to offer in each of the crane types that we looked at. Our experience with the Liebherr cranes we currently own has been excellent and we decided that the reputation and value provided by their crawler and tower cranes were a good investment."

Kalhagen added that Liebherr’s stability, growth and, investment influenced his decision to purchase. "Their ability to build such a tremendous company as a family owned business resonated with the vision and culture of Ideal Crane Rental,” he said.
