Konecranes Expands its Machine Tool Service Business

Konecranes, in Springfield, OH, has expanded its machine tool service (MTS) business in the U.S. by acquiring the assets of Ohio Hi-Speed Machine in Cleveland, Ohio. Ohio Hi-Speed provides a wide range of services to customers, including machine tool rebuilding, re-designing, control retrofits, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair services.

“The MTS business of Konecranes is a strategic fit with our traditional core competency in overhead crane maintenance services,” said Tom Kurtz, general manager, MTS, Konecranes Region Americas. “The addition of Ohio Hi-Speed Machine allows us to broaden our offering to new and existing customers in a variety of industrial segments.”

Ohio Hi-Speed is Konecranes' second acquisition in the U.S., following Machine Tool Solutions Unlimited of Cincinnati, Ohio, in October 2009. Don Dacone, Ohio Hi-Speed Machine owner and founder, will continue in the newly-acquired company, from which. Konecranes plans to further expand its MTS offering throughout the Americas.
