Kriby-Smith Names New Regional VP/GMs | Construction News

Equipment distributor Kirby-Smith Inc., Oklahoma City, Okla., has named two vice president/general managers to succeed long-time VP/GM  Glen Townsend, who retired in July after having been the company's VP/GM for 18 years.

The company has divided Townsend's former position into two regional general managers.

David Cooper, who has been with the company since 2012, was promoted to fill the role of Vice President/General Manager, South Division, from his previous role as North Texas Area Manager. Cooper has nearly 40 years of experience in the equipment industry. He is based in the Dallas branch.

“My philosophy has always remained the same, with a focus on core values,” Cooper said. “Take care of the customer in a fair and honest manner. I enjoy helping customers build their businesses by finding the right equipment to meet their needs and backing that equipment with outstanding parts and service support.”

Jeff Weller has been named Vice President/General Manager, North Division. He is based in the Oklahoma City branch. Weller comes to Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. from Link-Belt Mid-Atlantic in Mechanicsville, Va., where he has worked for the past 28 years, most recently serving as the general manager. Weller has 35 years of experience in the equipment industry.

“Growing up, my dad and grandfather ran a Ford Dealership in Southwest Iowa,” Weller said. “They taught me to deal with customers honestly, fairly and directly. They also taught me not to hide from problems, never over-promise, and always try to exceed expectations.”
