Low Country JCB Celebrates New Ownership, 15 Years as Dealer | Construction News

Low Country JCB, headquartered in Pooler, Georgia, recently celebrated its 15th anniversary, new ownership, and president/CEO Chris Shea’s “40 Under 40” award from Construction Equipment Magazine.

To commemorate those milestones, the company invited more than 125 guests, including business partners and key customers, to enjoy a live band, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails while viewing new equipment at the company’s dealership location at 1008 East Hwy 80.

Low Country JCB was founded in 2001 in a single-wide trailer on the JCB North American headquarters property, with only 14 employees. Today, the company operates in a 15,000-sq.-ft. facility and sells a full selection of quality new and used JCB construction equipment, as well as equipment available for rent, and parts and service solutions for many major brands.

Chris Shea, Low Country JCB’s president/CEO, was awarded Construction Equipment Magazine’s “40 Under 40” award for his hard work, dedication, and achievements. After working for 12 years as a salesperson for JCB of Georgia and being awarded Top Salesman of the Year by JCB North America three times, Shea purchased the Low Country Machinery dealership in 2016.

“Our close proximity to JCB’s North American headquarters combined with my knowledge and experience with JCB equipment sets our dealership apart from its competitors,” said Shea. “I’ve received an amazing amount of support from the Savannah area since announcing my new ownership and have a great working relationship with the staff at JCB. I’m looking forward to continuing to work together and working hard to ensure Low Country JCB is as successful as possible.”

Low Country JCB offers backhoes, excavators, telehandlers, wheel loaders, skid steers, rough terrain forklifts and the all-new JCB Teleskid—the first skid steer with a telescopic boom for increased versatility, accessibility and the capability to reach further and dig deeper than any other skid steer available.

“Low Country JCB was named a JCB Dealer of Excellence in both 2015 and 2016,” said Christian Baillie, JCB North America’s Vice President of Construction Equipment Dealer Sales. “Under Shea’s ownership, we have no doubt that the company will continue on this track of success, and we’re looking forward to working together to provide the best possible equipment and service to its customers.”
