NACB Changes Venue for Annual Professional Development Conference

North American Crane Bureau will hold its annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) November 12-16 in Tampa, Fla. This is a new venue for the event, which has previously been held in Nevada.

“The Tampa location was chosen for its proximity to many extracurricular activities, including fishing, golf, and amusement parks. While the primary purpose for attending the PDC is learning, folks appreciate the opportunity to mix in some relaxation and enjoyment,” said L.D. Stutes, vice president sales and marketing.

The PDC offers attendees more than 50 education sessions and hands-on workshops, covering topics such as operator training/certification, new technological advances, and safety standards development and implementation. Sessions will cover a variety of types of equipment, including mobile cranes, overhead cranes, hoists, aerial work platforms, lift trucks, and rigging gear.

New at this year’s conference is a Rigging Rodeo, allowing attendees to compete against each other to perform a series of hands-on rigging tasks. In addition, the 8th annual Crane Simulator Rodeo allows attendees to compete for the title of best operator in three categories: mobile crane, overhead crane, and tower crane. Tournament registration is limited. Winners will be announced during the Thursday evening banquet.
