The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), Fairfax, Va., will host a Line Safety for Crane Operations webinar on November 2 at noon EST.
The webinar, which will focus on the impact of line voltage on working distances, work zone identification and marking and encroachment prevention, will cover the use of below-the-hook operator aids such as insulated links, proximity warning devices, required signage and training requirements.
Chip Pocock, safety and risk manager, Buckner Companies, Graham, N.C., will present the webinar. Pocock, who has more than 20 years of experience in construction, safety management, crane and rigging operations and management, and insurance and risk management issues, is president and safety committee chair of the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA). He has represented SEAA on the OSHA Crane and Derrick Advisory Committee, and was named SEAA’s Man of the Year in 2004 for his work on the OSHA Subpart R Steel Erection Training Program. He also is a member of the Associated General Contractors of America National Safety and Health Committee.
