Ritchie Bros. Sells $42 Million at Houston Auction | Construction News

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sold more than $42 million (U.S.) of heavy equipment and trucks at an unreserved public auction in Houston, Texas, on February 11-12, 2015.

More than 3,800 lots were sold, including 190+ truck tractors, 60+ excavators, 30+ dozers, 50+ skid steers, and more.

"We had a strong start to 2015 in Texas, attracting record numbers of equipment and truck buyers to our Houston auction," said Alan McVicker, regional sales manager for Ritchie Bros. "We sold equipment to buyers from across the States, into Canada and Latin America, and even as far away as the Middle East and Australia."

More than 4,500 people from almost 60 countries, including 49 U.S. states, registered to bid in the auction. Buyers from outside Texas purchased more than $21 million (U.S.) of equipment and trucks (approximately 52% of total gross auction proceeds). Online bidders purchased more than $19 million (U.S.) of equipment and trucks (approximately 47% of total gross auction proceeds).
