SC&RA and SC&R Foundation Announce New Officers

During its Annual Conference last week in Austin, Texas, the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) elected Michael Battaini, Sheedy Drayage, San Francisco, Calif., as president. Joining Battaini as officers for the 2012-2013 term are:

Also joining the board are four newly elected group chairs:

  • Allied Industries Group: Jim Strobush, Terex USA, Wilmington, N.C.
  • Crane & Rigging Group: Jim Sever, PSC Crane & Rigging,  Dayton, Ohio
  • Transportation Group: Paul DeLong, Paul DeLong Heavy Haul, Las Vegas, Nev.
  • Ladies Group: Nichole Cravens, Ridewell Suspensions, Springfield, Mo.

With the exception of the board members and treasurer, all newly-elected officers will serve one-year terms that will expire at the Association’s 2013 Annual Conference, to be held April 2-6 at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Additionally, SC&RA elected the following five new board members to serve three-year terms:

  • Alan Barnhart, Barnhart, Barnhart Crane and Rigging, Memphis, Tenn.
  • Steve Freckmann, Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, Milwaukee, Wis.
  • Kevin Johnston, J&R Engineering, Mukwonago, Wis.
  • Doug Miller, Burkhalter, Columbus, Miss.
  • Terry Emmert, Emmert International, Clackamas, Ore.

 

 The SC&R Foundation also announced its officers for 2012-2013. They are:

  • President:  Earl Johnson III, Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc./Southern Crane, Raleigh, N.C.
  • Vice President:  Robert Moore, NBIS, Atlanta, Ga.
    Treasurer:  Jim Sever, PSC Crane & Rigging, Piqua, Ohio

Also set were the Foundation committee chairpersons.

  • Development/Public Relations:  Tiea Cowley, Turner Brothers, Longview, Texas
  • Research/Education:  Dan Bumby, ECC Lift Systems, Woodland Park, Colo.
  • Scholarship: Stephanie Bragg, Bragg Crane Service, Long Beach, Calif. 

 

Jane Bennington, Duncan Machinery Movers, Inc., Lexington, Ky., will renew her term. New board members are Ingo Schiller, Manitowoc, Shady Grove, Pa., and Richard Miller, Mammoet USA South, Rosharon, Texas.

Two members received a Cornerstone Award for completing a three-year elected term on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. George Young, George Young Company, Swedesboro, N.J., was recognized for his seven years as Treasurer and more than 30 years of Foundation support and service. Joe Bob Joyce, Joyce Crane, Longview, Texas, had served on the Board since 2008.
