The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association's Crane & Rigging Governing Committee has approved the creation of a new Tower Crane Committee. It replaces the Tower Crane Task Force, which was originally established as a short-term entity. The change was made in response to SC&RA's growing involvement with issues involving the tower crane sector of the industry.
The new committee will continue the mission of taking an active and progressive role in establishing best practices and providing the information necessary to reduce workplace accidents and injuries. The committee will review, address and provide guidance regarding relevant issues, accidents and best practices within the tower crane industry. In addition, the committee will work with state and local governments on fair and viable legislation and regulations. Frank Bardonaro, AmQuip Crane Rental, Bensalem, Pa., was selected as the Tower Crane Committee's Chair, a position he also held on the task force.
