Sims Crane Names Fatolitis Commercial Construction Manager | Construction News

Sims Crane has appointed Kaliope “Popi” Fatolitis as commercial construction manager. She oversees all major commercial projects with area sales representatives throughout Florida. Fatolitis is based in Sims Crane’s  Tampa headquarters.

Fatolitis previously worked for AmQuip, starting as a tower crane operator throughout the Southeast before being promoted to sales management for the company’s Florida division. In that capacity, she was oversaw all high-rise construction involving tower-cranes sale from North Carolina to Florida.

“We are very excited to have Popi spearheading our statewide commercial construction sales team,” said Erika Sims, Sims Crane vice president of sales. “With her years of experience in tower crane operation and sales, Popi is well known and respected in the commercial construction industry, making her the perfect person for this position.”  

Sims Crane enjoyed a banner year in 2016, with 28% growth in rental revenue. The company also opened a new office on the Space Coast, added 35 new staff members, and invested $37 million in equipment, including 32 new cranes. A leading crane and rigging company in Florida, Sims Crane now has 12 offices and more than 400 employees, including 159 crane operators, 53 apprentices, 20 transport drivers, and 40 maintenance personnel.
