Stephenson Equipment Buys Pa.-Based Crane Company

Focusing its growth on the Philadelphia-Southeast Pennsylvania market, Stephenson Equipment Inc., Harrisburg, Pa., announces it has acquired CC & FF Keesler Inc. of Prospect Park, Pa.

Seeking a facility and possible strategic alliance with an existing distributor, Stephenson president and CEO, Dennis Heller, approached Keesler and found significant commonalities, which led to the acquisition. The company will be known as the Keesler Division of Stephenson Equipment, and Rick Keesler will be operations manager for this division. The division will feature the Manitowoc, Grove, National, Manitex, Shuttlelift, Spider Cranes, and Potain crane brands. Stephenson also noted it intends to continue and build on Keesler’s position as the top Rogers Brothers trailer dealer for more than 80 years.

The companies previously had a working relationship dating back to the 1950s when they were P&H Crane distributors until the brand was sold in the mid-1990s. The companies then represented different brands but continued a business relationship. Heller said the Keesler name is recognized and well regarded in the crane industry. Its facility is well rated for crane work, and its location on I-95 near the airport, Delaware, and New Jersey is ideal.

Stephenson Equipment has locations in Harrisburg, Lancaster, Wilkes-Barre and Pittsburgh, Pa., and facilities in Albany and Syracuse, N.Y.
